Hyde Park is known for being a suburban area in an urban city- in fact, the neighborhood motto is "A Small Town in the City". The Neponset river runs along its middle, providing beautiful views and trails for residents. Since it is located on the southernmost point of the Boston area, it was considered to be fairly remote. The introduction of a railroad system made it more accessible and allowed for more affordable options for those looking to live in the city. One of its most famous attractions is the George Wright Golf Course it shares with Roslindale- considered to be one of Donald Ross's finest golf course designs and a beautiful site for Hyde Park residents to frequent.
